I am a Certified Public Accountant who spent half of my career with Big 4 accounting firms or their spin-offs. I have seen and done a bit of everything. I hold an MBA from Arizona State University as well as HFMA’s Certified Revenue Cycle Representative designation.
Served on the leadership team for the revenue cycle modernization and transformation involving organizational design, centralization of functions and developing a decision-making framework for strategic investments. The system’s revenue cycle is comprised of 3,700 staff spanning 51 facilities in 7 states and is responsible for over $16 billion in net revenues annually.
Expanded a national health insurer’s presence to Nevada via a strategic partnership with a boutique health plan. Engagement included partnership with executive leadership to develop an integration strategy, assessment of key functional area’s capabilities, and review of technology data transfer points to support the seamless provision of services to members.
Directed the recovery from a failed claims adjudication application for a $425 million Medicaid plan. Remediation included application gap analysis, requirements redefinition, application reconfiguration, custom code development, extensive testing, end-to-end process flow realignment, staff training, and re-adjudication a year’s worth of claims.
Served as senior financial leader, including CFO, for the implementation of electronic health records across 40 facilities and 216 clinics. Led the organization out of a compromised financial position to one with utter clarity around projected multi-year spend. Achieved a spend accuracy of 98% on $800M spend within 18 months.
